Uploading Your Photo
Now you can add photos to your gallery by following these steps:
- Photography Class Upload â Tap the Photography Class Upload link in the menu
- Read the quote and challenge reminder
- Make a note of the number of photos you can upload this week
- Your Name â Ensure your name is selected from the dropdown menu
- Give your photo a title â Something that describes what you captured
- Write a caption â Tell us about your photo (up to 180 characters). Watch the counter!

Choose your photo â Tap “Choose File” and pick an image
- Photo file formats allowed: JPG, PNG, or HEIC
- Maximum file size: 10MB
- Add notes â Optional! Share what you were thinking or how you took the shot

Check the boxes if they apply:
- â “This is my Student’s Choice” â Check this if it’s your favorite photo this week
- đ¯ “Challenge Accepted!” â Check this if your photo responds to this week’s challenge
- Tap “Upload My Photo” â You’ll see a progress bar while it uploads
đ Success!
When your upload is complete, you’ll see confetti and your photo thumbnail.
You’ll also get a “Fix a Typo” link that works for 30 minutes if you need to make a quick correction.
đˇ Photo Limit:
You can only upload a limited number of photos each week.
If you’ve reached your limit, you’ll see your existing photos with an option to delete one if you want to upload something new instead.
đ¯ This Week’s Challenge
Each week has a special photography challenge and an inspiring quote
at the top of the upload page.
The challenge gives you a creative prompt â like photographing textures, capturing movement,
or telling a story with objects. You don’t have to do it, but it’s a fun way to stretch your skills!
If your photo is your response to the challenge, make sure to check the
“Challenge Accepted!” box when you upload.
đŧī¸ Exploring the Gallery
The gallery shows everyone’s photos from your class. At the top, you’ll see:
- Current week â Shows this week’s number and theme (e.g., “Week 3: Patterns”)
- Week timeline â Clickable circles showing all 8 weeks. Tap a week to see just that week’s photos!
- Quote of the Day â An inspiring photography quote to get you thinking
- This Week’s Challenge â The optional challenge prompt for this week
You might see two gallery views:
- Masonry view â Photos arranged in a flowing grid
- Slideshow view â One photo at a time with details on the side
What you’ll see on each photo:
- â Gold border = Someone’s “Student’s Choice”
- đ¯ Target badge = Challenge Accepted photo
- âšī¸ Info icon = Tap to see camera settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed)
⨠Giving Stickers
You can react to your classmates’ photos with emoji stickers! Each sticker means something different:

Just tap a sticker to add it. The number shows how many people have reacted!
đŦ Leaving Comments
You can leave short, kind comments on any photo:
- Pick your name from the dropdown (or type it in)
- Write your comment (up to 180 characters)
- Tap “Post”
đ Remember:
Comments should be encouraging and constructive.
Tell your classmates what you notice, what you like, or what the photo makes you think about.
đˇ Tips for Taking Great Photos
- Get closer â Fill the frame with your subject
- Try different angles â Get low, get high, look from the side
- Notice the light â Soft light makes gentle photos; strong light makes dramatic ones
- Look for patterns and textures â They’re everywhere!
- Take your time â The best photos come from really seeing
- Photograph the same thing multiple ways â Your 5th shot might be the best one
đ Your Privacy
A few things to know:
- No login needed â Just use your first name
- Location info is removed â GPS data is automatically stripped from your photos
- Only your class can see the gallery â It’s not public on the internet
đ Need Help?
If something isn’t working or you have questions:
- Ask your teacher!
- Check that your photo is a HEIC, JPG, or PNG file. (iPad photos are HEIC by default)
- Make sure you’ve filled in all the required fields (name, title, caption)
- Try refreshing the page if something seems stuck
